Constructive Criticism – the Way to Positive Results

Once you become a supervisor, your responsibility shifts from doing the job yourself to making certain that others do the work well.  This can be a difficult and frustrating transition to make.  It is the difference between doing and managing the work. This workshop shows you how to improve the performance of others by using constructive criticism to influence their behavior so that the job gets done right - the first time.

  • How to prevent the garbage in – garbage out syndrome with improved communication
  • Why criticism brings out the worst in us
  • How criticism can bring out the best in us
  • How to quickly assess the source of an employee’s performance problem
  • The importance of feedback when influencing behavior
  • How to give constructive criticism without causing a negative reaction
  • How to catch them doing something right
  • How to reinforce positive behaviors
  • How to be a role model and take criticism constructively
  • How to judge criticism objectively
  • Techniques for getting helpful information from critics

Methodology:  This program utilizes video, group discussion, structured exercises, practice exercises and a question and answer segment.
